The Amalinda Collection is extremely excited about their recent grading and receiving of their BRONZE Awards by Green Tourism at an award ceremony held in Vic Falls this week.

Speaking after the event, Green Tourism Advisor to Zimbabwe, Ms Veronica Chapman said

There were two things that stood out for me from our visit to Ivory Lodge and Khulu Lodge; the first being that they have dedicated staff who are so committed and clearly have the passion to go the extra mile. We do understand the unique challenges of every business in Zimbabwe right now, we also understand the economic challenges. The second is their brilliantly positioned hide at Ivory Lodge – to be able to get so up close and personal with elephants is truly a USP and it was a privilege to experience this.”

Khulu Lodge, only 2 years old and having already had the misfortune of burning down soon after it was initially built, is the ‘signature camp’ of the Amalinda Collection family.  Currently an award winning lodge “Best Photographic Lodge in Zimbabwe”, Khulu’s natural green footprint is remarkably low for such a new lodge and are working towards earning their Silver status shortly.

Ivory Lodge is celebrating a decade of belonging to The Amalinda Collection, and was also part of the pilot study. It is an honour to be recognised as one of the green lodges in Hwange surveyed by Green Tourism.

    Ms Chapman said:

“The fact that Ivory Lodge and Khulu Lodge from the Amalinda Collection agreed to be part of the pilot group for launching Green Tourism, shows their commitment and they will always have the honour of being one of the Founding Members of Green Tourism in Zimbabwe. part of a group of tourism businesses that is paving the way for benchmarking sustainable green practices, not just in Zimbabwe, but for Southern Africa. I have no doubt that The Amalinda Collection will continue on this green path and will achieve higher gradings in the future”
