Cancellation Policy over Ebola
The Amalinda Collection Cancellation Policy to address fears over Ebola
PLEASE NOTE: Zimbabwe is an Ebola FREE destination and is at low risk of Ebola both due to geography (distance from the outbreak) and border/customs controls in place in Zimbabwe.
Due to the Ebola outbreaks in West Africa and ongoing traveller fears of visiting African countries, The Amalinda Collection is introducing a new cancellation policy in order to address these fears.
In the event that the World Health Organisation (WHO) declare a confirmed case of Ebola in Zimbabwe, The Amalinda Collection properties are offering a NO CANCELLATION FEE POLICY if travel is cancelled due to a confirmed case of Ebola by WHO in Zimbabwe or at any entry point into Zimbabwe, namely Namibia, South Africa, Botswana or Zambia.
Travellers may cancel their travel to any property within The Amalinda Collection portfolio without charge from date of travel up to 30 days before travel as a result of a confirmed case of Ebola. Travellers may not cancel more than 60 days in advance of travel if there is an outbreak, to allow for Zimbabwe to be declared ‘Ebola free’ in the interim (Ebola outbreaks are officially declared over by WHO when no new cases are reported within 42 days).
This offer applies to new bookings received from 24th October 2014. All travellers are to ensure they have comprehensive travel insurance before travelling. Cancellation for any other reason will be subject to the standard Amalinda Collection cancellation policy.
Although Zimbabwe is further away from the outbreak than Europe is, we realize the growing concern to travellers choosing Southern Africa as a destination and it is our goal to stand behind suppliers to ensure Zimbabwe can be marketed as an African destination of choice going forward.
